Post How to add speed index-hal sensor to gecko540 on Mini Mill X2?

    Hi everyone!

I´m retrofitting my X2 mini mill to cnc with a Gecko G540

I already know that I can control the X2 spindle speed through Mach3 using the 0-10V opto-isolated output ports of the Gecko connected to the X2 mini mill´s pot.

I have a small and really simple hal sensor schematics to act as an index speed sensor also, which is powered by 5V. I can use an step-down voltage converter to get these 5V from the main 48V power source.

So, is there an input on the G540 where I could connect this sensor output? How can I wire it? On those 12 main terminal block pinouts I can´t find any input for a "speed sensor", only 4 inputs for on-off switches... could one of these inputs be used for this purpose?

Or should I wire it directly to the db25 cable on the computer side? And set Mach3 to read it independently of the G540?

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Thanks a lot!
