Hello NX users
Is here anybody who actually uses NX automatic speed and feed library? Is there any tutorial or video how to define tools and speed and feed rates from tool maker database and use it automatically later in NX?

Hi all
I have struggled with good solution for automatic speed and feed settings for a milling operation already so long time. I had to do something about it. Luckily I have know coding so here is work of last months.
To be frank NX solution for finding speeds and feeds from database is not good. Based on part material, tool material, method, tool dimension, and a cutting depth you cannot really find optimal speed and feeds. So I upgraded NX file that is looking for speed and feed parameters from database and added extra information to speed and feed database file. So now NX can to find automatically speed and feeds parameters depending on
• Part material
• Tool
• Method
• Cutting depth
• Step over
At the end I have always the optimum cutting parameters for operation.
I’ll do presentation and video about this and shall share the link. But if you have any questions you can write to me directly [email protected]
The basic difference is that you are using cut depth and stepover as inputs. In NX these are optional outputs from the machining data.
Good to know you were able to find a solution by customization.

Here is the video link that I promised.

I have been asked about benefits of new method defining NX CAM spindle speed and feed automatically. Here is a little presentation where two methods of defining automatically spindle speed and feed are compared. On the same part two options of defining cutting data were used and machining data as a result was compared.
Enjoy, and comment what You think.
New video.
Automatic spindle speed and feedrate definition by cut depth and stepover that is set by programmer.
Enjoy.
