I am contemplating a project which will require the use of a 1,000w motor.

I see these going for fair prices on the 'bay but what to use as an amp, and how available/affordable are surplus amps for such a large motor? Would one of the fairly available 25A units from AMC or Copley (I think these are the same units???) be sufficient?

The other motor will be in the 400w range, and both will run off of Mach through Pixie's and possibly a Grex as well.

It's a weird world we live in where 1,000w brushless motors go for pennies and large DC brush motors seem to go for a premium I guess we can thank Gecko for that.

EDIT!

I also have 3 Compumotor TQ10 drives, are these sufficient for 1kw motors? I most frequently see these paired with much smaller Nema 16-34 motors.
