I know this is another circle problem but I have searched through this forum and still haven't been able to solve my problem.
First off I make Fidget Spinners out of wood. I use Fusion 360 to create the design then I export it as .dxf file into Aspire 8.5 then I use the post processor there to create the G code I use in Mach3.
I make fidget spinners out of wood (eventually I want to upgrade to making them out of aluminum) that use skateboard bearings in them and the holes I need to cut out have to be almost exactly 22mm in diameter the wood I'm using right now is just some cheap poplar that's 1/4" or 19.05mm thick.
The problem I'm having is when I pocket the circles they are right around .4mm too short in the x and .3mm short in the y axis, the circles themselves are somewhat round so that's good except for them being too short. I was hoping someone would know what I could do to fix this.
I am using a Romaxx HS-1 machine, that is level and square I checked that out to make sure. Everything on the machine seems very solid and well built no slop in the x and y axis. Though there is some slop in the z axis that if I grab the bottom of it I can tip it about 2mm so I don't know if that would cause a problem or not and I don't know how to fix it.
I'm using G Code (mm) (*.tap) and since everything in mach3 is set up in inches I'm putting G21 in the code to switch it to metric because that's what I work in all the time.
I have tried turning backlash off which didn't help and I've messed around with CV a little bit but it's a little tough to understand.
Here's some other stuff that might help out.
Bit 6mm 4 flute tian coated
pass depth 2mm
step over 25%
spindle speed I have a dwalt router set on #3
feed rate 13.33 mm/sec
plunge rate 10 mm/sec
If you need any other info please let me know. I know there's some magic man/woman out there that can help me. lol
P.S.
Here is a quick cut I did in particle board of one of my spinners. I exported it from fusion 360 into aspire 8.5 then made the g code there. I only cut 2mm deep just to show you what it would look like.
All of the holes should be 22mm in diameter
The height should be 80.163mm
The width should be 87.599mm
Also here is the G code for the spinner.
