Today, I've machined maraging steel .
This material is difficult to cut because the chip form is problematic and the strength is high, but it's easier than Superalloy (Inconel, Monell,...)

My case was: Doing thread M0.8x1mm (for watch industry).

    Hey guys,

I need your help in cutting maraging steel. I have a huge block of maraging steel which has been annealed to 28 - 30HRC. I need to slit this block into smaller pieces and later machine the smaller pieces. The size of the block is about 500mm X 350mm X 1500mm long. The cut pieces will be 500mm X 350mm X 200mm in size.

    Here come the doubts
    1. Can this be done on a slitting machine?
    2. What kind of siltting saw will I need to use to cut this material?
    3. Can I use a band saw cutting machine? If yes, what is the grade of bandsaw that I will need to use?

Would appreciate all your inputs regarding this. Thank in advance.
