Hello community!
I recently acquired Gene Machines OmniGrid 100 microarrayer similar to this http://www.cnczone.com/forums/diy-cn...ml#post1048296
I got ball screw Parker linear stages with hall home and limit switches, gantry and control module. Control module has power supplies and Parker OEM670T drives, taking +/- 10V.
The system was missing the computer based servo controller.
I was unable to find anything affordably to buy. The cheapest option is CSMIO/IP-A| 6-axis Motion Controller, which cost 600 euros. I bought the whole machine for $250!
I decided to build my own controller.
I initially created Atmega2560 based 3 axis servo controller and successfully ran it as 3D printer and LinuxCNC router, but it couldn't handle 1000 steps/rot encoders at high speeds.
I am currently working on STM32F4 based 3 axis servo controller, and thinking about making it into an inexpensive product ~$100 for 3 axis controller.
The goal is to make it standalone, with LCD screen, button control, and PID autotune.
I would like to get some feedback from community about this idea. Trying to create a simple minimum viable product.
It would be great if I can find somebody at San Antonio, TX who will be willing to test it for CNC retrofit or custom project.
