    PathPilot™ v1.9.11 Now Available

    FYI

    https://www.tormach.com/pathpilot-documentation.html

    In This Version-

Please be sure to read the release notes for a complete summary of all enhancements and bug fixes.

    Enhancements:

    • In rare situations, updates could fail to apply correctly if the PathPilot controller becomes unresponsive
while updating. The controller is then non-operational, and displays an error message stating it failed
      to generate an INI file.
The update process is now more reliable due to several enhancements:
      - Improved safety of file system disk cache settings.
      - Automatic controller reboot after applying an update.
-Automatic creation of a backup file containing PathPilot settings and tool tables prior to applying
an update — the backup file is named PathPilotBackupSettings-Year-Month-Day.zip and stored on
the USB drive that contains the update file.
In the event of a future hardware failure that requires you to use the PathPilot recovery DVD, use
the backup file to restore your PathPilot settings and tool tables: in the PathPilot interface, from
the Main tab, type ADMIN SETTINGS RESTORE in the MDI field and click ENTER on your keyboard.
For more information, refer to the machine Operator Manual.

I just down loaded v10 but did not install it yet.
Might wait and see what happens before updating now.

I installed version 10 yesterday and everything worked as expected. My control is homebuilt with an ASUS board and not a Tormach supplied PC if that matters.

I have adopted a policy of not installing for a week or so unless I have nothing scheduled.

There have been three instances of fast updates over the past 18 months, the current v10 to v11 release, and an earlier one (1.9.4) that went to a "b" version almost immediately. 1.9.6 did the same thing, took a couple weeks though. I'm happy to see fixes issued quickly; I wish pre-release testing had more resources (and understand the problem there as well - "shoot the engineer" applies to software development too).

I don't update for a week or so either generally, I never did 910, just installed 911, after making a back-up file, and checking the back-up file. It installed and works great for me so far...

STILL NO FILE MANAGEMENT!! This really pisses me off, can't copy and paste, drag and drop, that went away like a year ago, I have a huge mess of files because I can't move ops into folders, wish this was fixed...

If you connect to the Samba share from a networked PC you can drag/drop/delete with ease.

I can do everything except dragging or copying from the list in pp into folders in pp. Lack of that ability leaves a huge messy list of ops that can't be organized into folders.

Do you mean that using the Samba share you can do everything except dragging into folders or without using Samba you can do everything except dragging into folders?

Without Simba Share, I haven't used that, just within PP, no copy/paste.

If you insert a USB stick you can move the files back and forth into different folders. Not the nicest way to do but at least it can be tidied up.

    Re: PathPilot™ v1.9.11 Now Available

when i first start up the machine and use MDI i get this error, because the machine needs to know the G-code, so instead of typing in X0 Y0, i need to type in G00 X0 Y0 as an example otherwise the machine doesnt know what speed to move at because a program hasnt been run, because after u run a program and type in just X0 Y0 itll default to the last previous run G code speed.

so either run a dummy program or just use G00 X0 Y0 for the first entry and then X0 Y0 there after

    thanks guys
