    Cheap China 2kg foundry question.

I am a complete noob at casting. I am looking at the China Jewelery foundry to use with my 3d printer and investment cast parts for my CNC machines.

Can someone tell me the approximate weight of aluminum these 2kg foundries hold as I understand it is 2kg gold weight?

    hows you math?
    2kg / density gold
    gives volume it can hold.
volume x density aluminum gives you answer

    2000/19.32x2.7=279.5

Those aren't "foundries", they are just little electric melting pots. That's probably all the gold you'd want to melt at a time, but it's not a lot of aluminum. If aluminum is really what you're interested in casting, a small gas-fired blast furnace with a crucible would be more effective. People often build these furnaces themselves - but don't cheap out on the crucible: get a real clay-graphite or (preferably) silicon carbide crucible and the appropriate lifting tongs and pouring ring. To have a foundry, you'll also need a burn-out kiln and some safety equipment, like a leather suit, helmet, gloves and gaiters.

If you really don't know anything about casting, get someone who does to show you how to do it first-hand, in person. It can be very dangerous to mess around with molten metal, and there's a lot of misinformation about the process being spread around on YouTube.
