Now that you have all the geometry laid out your next step would be to use 3D Wire Frame to machine the fret locations

Here is a screen shot of the simulation

And that is how I did it also. I started with curved end wire, offset it, and then went and offset for each fret. I then did a skin.
I have V28. What is 3D wire frame?
I can get it to machine but it won't follow the curve. It simply cuts straight across. Your program is cutting the curve bottom
Then in all my frustration trying to find solution, I ran into this situation where I tried to create a pocket, with wire frame and then extrude that curved wire frame.and it wont extrude less then 3.4mm
You saying that file I attached works for everyone but me.
Last night I got a new component and BC crashes anytime I try to do anything with the image.

    3D wire frame

    use 3D Engrave feature

I am thinking you don't have this feature in standard ? It might only be in the Pro edition ???

Well I guess we have a happy ending. I do have 3D wireframe. Never used it and it solved the problem. Thank you.

I am very inexperienced with this program and I guess my old school thinking got the best of me. I just thought, you have a 3 axis milling operation, you use 3 axis milling. I didn't think I had other options.

Since I have a example now of limitation of 3 axis mill, ingrained into my memory because of my nightmare, I'll need to learn more about the differences between 3 axis milling and wireframe.

    Thank you again

Nice! Glad it worked out for you. The struggles and triumphs are going to make a better user at the end of the day, believe it. Someday you may move to another software but if you take the time to know one thoroughly you may find it's all you need.

    Great job BobCAD community

Yea, I'll get thru it. Between bad CAD model, tool issues, in experience with BC, BC quirks , PC problems, I'm ready to pull my hair out.
Luckily I have you CNCzone guys and BC support to get thru it.
    Thanks for everyone's help.
Still have a ways to go thou.
