    Smile Help with picture

    Guys,
    I have read so many postings here that my mind is at a complete standstill, how do I take a (JPEG) picture and convert it to DXF so that it can be milled, or wire, waterjet cut etc. I'm sure I have all the necessary progs, but just can't remember the procedure. Any help would be great!

    I got a cheap drawing program called Corel draw ver 11. It will import a jpeg and export an autocad ver 12-02, and DWG and about twenty others. Thats the only thing I use it for is conversion. Works great.

    I got mine online from some vendor for under 200 bucks, I think there is a ver 12 now.

    last year I bought a conversion utility called rasterfratz...totally worthless.

    Check out Corel draw.

    In autocad I start with the insert menu.

    Insert --> raster image...

    works just fine and then you can mark up your picture using what ever drawing commands you want.

    To make sure all drawn elements are visible while operating, use the display order command so the picture remains in the background:

    Tools --> display order --> send to back
