    Question Toolpath set up?

Have run into another problem - hoping for any guidance on this one:

    After completing the following steps...
1.) Open new file, set size
2.) Load releif from previous file
3.) Pasting change size 3D clipart, apply, center drawing, paste and close.
4.) Save new art cam and relief files w/new file name
5.) Check 3D view, new dimensions
6.) Follow steps of machining in toolpaths
7.) Type in .25 machine safe Z in top and bottom boxes
    8. Do material setup and...

this is where I have a problem...when the "model position in material" screen appears, the okay command is not highlighted and I can't adjust the three lower boxes. I can make changes to the "top offset/bottom offset" and material thickness commands. So, I hit cancel and try again. I think the second time I tried, the number in the middle of the three lower boxes changed to a larger figure. What is going on? thanks!

    Did you select a tool?

I'll have to have a look and see the seq.

Could be your model is taller than your material setting.

I don't think that I have used the material setting half a dozen times in the years I have been running ArtCam toolpaths almost daily. For most stuff just ignore it completely, it isn't necessary. Just offset your Z zeroing when you do the machine setup. A lot easier in the end, too.

Thanks for the quick responses all. I'm still trying to understand the problem.

In the original file the model is not taller.
    Yes, selected a tool.

The original relief file material specs allowed me to cut correctly...what could I have done when altering the new file specs that would cause a problem - any guesses? thanks

I have to do this on a friend's system.

    I think Todd71 has it.

I followed your steps and if the model was too high for the material OR if the material was too thin for the model the problem that's described happens.
