    Hi Mike,
Would you happen to know what that thermistor on this picture is? We can't find any info. It's 12 Ohm, ntc, it's in kollmorgen psr4 power supply in sabre 750.
    All the best

Sure. They are our way of making softstart on power up; prevents the hi current inrush that would otherwise be there charging the bus caps. I cannot tell you the part numbers as the factory does not allow that. But I think if you visit digikey.com and search for NTC power limiters in that physical size you might find there are only a couple to choose from and each of those probably would work fine.

Another board pulled from psr4/5. It's faulty, I have swapped it with one from another psr4 and the power supply worked ok. Nothing obvious on it indicating bad parts.
    Any suggestions much appreciated.
    Thanks

I've exchanged all capacitors, zener diodes, and still no luck. Dc output around 285v, and it drops to 230dc when I run a spindle at s300. And it alarms out obviously. I can run a spindle at 100rpm.
What component is responsible for keeping volts at 325 volts.
    Please help, it's my birthday

There's another issue, as soon as I start spindle, it " crashes " with SPINDLE OT ERR.

I found a guy locally who knows Cincinnati, hopefully he can sort it out.
    Thanks

I finally solved this problem, no more spindle over temp on hawk 150.
It was a broken wire from r37 socket, that's thermistor from spindle motor.

Over the past year the battery for WS board failed, causing the bios to return to default settings.
    And that caused booting problem.

WS board failed light was red on extension board BBB.
I read somewhere that acramatic a2100 needs to have proper bios settings.
So I messed with it and it starts now ok.
Here for future reference bios settings that work for me

One more thing to get it running. In mdi G97s100m3 works fine, and I can go to s3000 fine in 100 increments.
But the machine doesn't like to accelerate from 0 to 500 or more.

We think it's something around the spindle motor, there no ohms between 2 black cables. On my mill spindle motor shows 160 ohms.

99% of the time this is caused by defective PSR4/5 power supply. Suggest you begin searching ebay for a replacement PSR4/5.

I assume the black wires you refer to are the OT klixon sensor in spindle; should be near 0 ohms.

    You were right Mike.
Volts were dropping to 250V when it tried to accelerate. I changed a logic board in psr4/5 and it works fine now. Finally after over a year

    Thank you Mike for suggestions.

    Hi Mike,
I hope you still follow this thread.
Would you know if signal transformer like the one on the picture is still available maybe under different name,? 14a-5.0-1375

Turns out it's burnt on the secondary windings.
This is from a logic board of psr4/5

no clue. send me an email with the full pscr4/5 part no and I will look to see if I have any more info on it. I assume it is a generic 120vac to like 3 secondries of like 6, 12 & 12vac or so...

keep in m,ind this is RAW dc output to BDS4 drives: +/-18vdc & +10vdc for BDS4 to regulate down to +/-12v & +5Vdc.... so ANYTHING close will work - make your own for the missing one or even use a 24vdc ps maybe for a missing 18? or a computer PS 19v wall wart? If 5v, all you need is like 7.5v or 12v maybe wallwart?? IMAGINATION MY MAN.

Are the drives BDS4, Vector-Star, or Siemens? What release Software shows in the Service page.
The details make a large difference.
    SN 7051-A0x-yyyy ?
Model type Exx; or year of manufacture below on separate plate ?
    Control Diagram: 9120xxxxAyy ?
