Owners of my shop showed up with two new old Tree mills. After a week and a half of troubles, pans had holes all in them, one wouldn't home out, the other wouldn't show the tool was in the spindle, but we've finally gotten past all of those problems.
To be clear the control is Siemens. PC2100
Now, I go to hook up the A axis that came with one of the mills. At first it didn't even have A axis as selectable in the menus but I found out through the settings to add it to PORT 5. When I selected that it came up as A axis and Rotary Windup Axis, assuming that's the setting that the previous owners used I applied the changes and restarted the machine as prompted by the dialogue box. When the machine loaded back up, A axis became selectable on the pendant, but instead moved Z axis up and down, after a quick google search I found that it seems it's supposed to be selected as Rotary Modular Axis and so I set it to that. Now every time I start the machine it gives me an alarm that says it's had problem mapping the Pendant and nothing works on the keypad on the pendant. Anyone been through this? I really need a brain on this problem guys.
