ive got a 3040t or what ever they are called and id like to uprate the spindle so i brought a 600w thinking it would be a easy swop little did i relise the 600w spindle id 57mm wide
so my problem now comes with mounting it to the z axis
could any one please point me in the right direction to change the mount as mine is a one peice onto the axis picture included

If that existing mount is say 80mm and the new spindle is 57mm, you might be able to make a sleeve to slide over the spindle, which would then go into the existing mount.

I think his mount is smaller.

yes the mount is 52mm

In that case you only have a few options. You could cut the existing mount all the way across at the first outer fin closest to the bearings in the back. Then take a flat piece of 1/4" aluminum and bolt that to what is left of the old mount. Then drill holes in the 1/4" aluminum plate for the new mount that supports the new spindle. The other option is to design and build and entirely new mount assembly including the bears.

just a bit of a update on this
tried to take the mount of but it apears its put togeather in such a way with intefernce fit parts etc its a pain so fabrication seems like a no go, so ive took the easy option and order the 52mm sindle but a 400w. thanks for the help
