I've built a plasma table using 2 stepper motors on gantry for the xaxis . X and A are slaved together and and tried to reverse the A motor and X with no luck .whether I check the reverse tab or no the motor only runs one direction and my y axis is the same situation

Rewversing a motor just changes the direction it runs in relation to the DIR signal. Properly setup motors will run in either direction when you jog the oppose way. reversing just reverses both directions. If you can't make the mtors move BOTH ways on the axis (even if its is the wrong way in realtion to the DRO readouts) then you have a signal problem. The DIR signal has to change froom high to low (or low to high) to change the motor direction of travel

Just swap the phase wires on the motor. Power off first, of course.
