    Hitachi Seiki HG400-3 Seicos 10 Fanuc 16 RC4 Can't zero return F94.0-2=0

Hello, We have a Hitachi Seiki HG400-3 machine with a Fanuc-RC4 PMC that we are unable to perform a zero return. Upon power up, there are no alarms present and all drives are in the ready state. X+, Y+ and Z+ LED's are flashing indicating a zero return is needed but none of the axis will move during a zero return, jog or by using the manual pulse generator. Also, no alarms are present when we try to move the axis. I have checked our jog rate bits and my selector switches are working. All of the axis have holding torque so the drives are enabled and ready. Going through the ladder logic I have noticed that F94.0, F94.1 and F94.2 are all zero. I have tried to set the APZ bits as many forums have directed but this did not correct the problem. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

You need to check G8.0, & G130.0 (1st axis) G130.1 (2nd axis)G130.2 (3rd axis). These need to be on. Also, G100.0 needs to turn on when you press the jog button.

G8.0 was the clue I needed. The auto/hand selector was defective. Thanks so much! Another question. Can you point me in the right direction to perform a system/ladder logic backup?

What do you have to back up the CNC with? RS232?

I'm not sure. There appears to be open ports for communications and a slot for a memory card. I have no procedure to create a backup right now.
