    Probing for stock allowance

We currently run parts that are flame cut or burn outs. Here's the problem we're having. Sometimes the parts are warped and when the roughing mill goes to take the first cut it stalls the machine because it can be taking any where in excess to .020-.080 more stock. The Renishaw probe has a macro that lets it check for stock after hours of reading through the manual over and over we are still unclear on how to make it work for us. We would like it to probe the part and check to see if there is stock in excess of say .010 and if there is to run a subprogram to remove the excess stock prior to running the main program. If there is no excess stock to just go ahead and run the main program we know this can be achieved using macros we are just unclear on exactly how to go about it.

These parts are machined on a Haas GR-510

We are using Haas Inspection Plus software (Made by Renishaw)

We would straighten in a press after burning out.
Could you show the problem part picture?

There are a few ways to do it, but you'll have to get familiar with the raw renishaw routines like 9811. They work a bit differently than the way haas uses them, for example, calling 9811 z1.0 s54 from z2.0 g54 will attempt to move to wcs z1.0 and set the g54 z to 1.0 at wherever it touches. If you call 9811 with s0, it won't change the wcs offset, and you can read the touch point from the macros per renishaw manual at that point. Just remember that the routines are current wcs aware, unlike the regular probing cycles.

When 3d milling the taper there if the plate is warped up then the cutter tries to take way to big of a cut i know you can put air passes in but the boss doesnt much like when the machine is running and not cutting metal.
