Biesse Rover A FT 2231 _ (Flat table) Tips for beginners

Hi I am new here and wanted to create a thread on a machine that I work with if anyone has any tips please feel free to post here, I have some experience with this machine but working with these machines you always learn something new every day. I need some help on some stuff like some people suggested that its better to cut at one go and others suggest that its better to divide the cut in 2 steps what are your suggestions ?

    Thanks in advance,
    Daniel

    Hi,

    How old is your machine?
What software are you using on it?
    What materials are you machining?

Cutting in one pass depends on many things, size of your pieces, material, level of vacuum, condition of spoilboard, density of spoilboard.

Lots of questions, but it will help to know your situation better.

    Dear Miz,

Thanks for your reply and very sorry for my late reply.

My machine is almost 1 year old now,

    I work with bSuite ver2.5.5.712 / bCabinet ver16.8.82 / bNest ver2.6.0.246
    .

The material I mainly use is 19mm chipboard melamine (melamine on both sides). I usually cut in 2 passes for 2 reasons, reason 1 the piece rarely moves only small piece move ( 90mm width or less are the piece that often move and get ruined ) and reason 2 I find less chips on the top of the melamine.

The cutter I use is a diamond cutter 12mm with 3 flutes.

Is there a way that I can increase the level of vacuum ?

The spoilboard I use is 16mm common mdf (brown) and I use the a 35mm flycut to reduce the thickness by 0.2mm to make it flat and clean.

Once again thanks for your previous reply.

Remove at least 0.5mm from each side of the spoilboard.

What RPM and Feedrate are you using?

If you are getting chipping, it may be from climb cutting? ALWAYS conventional cut with melamine, never climb cut. The cuts will be better.
You should always cut in one pass with a compression bit, except for smaller parts. We onion skin parts smaller than 350sq inches, but everything larger is cut in one pass. I prefer carbide compression bits, as they allow much higher feedrates than diamond, and still last a long time when cutting melamine, usually 100-150 sheets.

Hi and thanks for replying t
he diamond bit I currently use is 12mm / Feed Speed 12,000 - 14,000 Max (I thinks its MM it becomes 551 IPS) and Rotation Speed 18,000 - 20,000.

When it comes to small piece 100mm width most of the times I moves even when the spoil board is clean.

    Also
I have recently bought this new bit : ( https://www.toolstoday.com/cnc-solid...flaminate.html ) I bought these two
