Hi forum,

I have been working my way through tutorials and videos .. any I feel quite confident, however i am not getting the results as expected so looking for some guides:

from research- much of what i need to achieve will be via EC-Edit, and mostly via section:

I make all the mods to the file, save, go to UPG re-compile, the re-select CTL from Cam works in SW, pots process = Nadda- no change !!! at all.

Trying simple things such as Gettools (show all tools at start of tape) / remove G43 via first rapid move Z down

so here is what I have:
CTL file - C:\Program Files (x86)\UPG\ctl\SHERLINE2017MACH3.ctl

Mach3Sherline
GENERIC FANUC MACH3
136.65200mm
76.20000mm

SRC file:C:\Program Files (x86)\UPG\Millsrc\Sherline2017Mach3.SRC

when I open SRC file in EC edit i get this under library files:
:LIBRARY=C:\Program Files (x86)\UPG\Millsrc\Sherline2017Mach3.LIB
:LIBRARY=C:\Program Files (x86)\UPG\Millsrc\MILL.LIB

i modified Mill.LIB to show tools in start of tape section (no change)
Sherline2017Mach3.LIB did not have any sections - so added a section to use get tools (no change)

What the heck am i doing wrong here?

You may need to move the ctl file after you compile it. Or change where Camworks is looking for the ctl file.
Right click machine then the post processor tab to see what the active post location is.
My posts compile in the upg ctl folder but camworks uses the camworksdata\posts folder.

You might have solved this already but for others of us... we need to re-select the .ctl file in the Machine Config window. I watched this video and starting at 22:50 he discusses this. https://youtu.be/vXe0s5IbpC4
