My good friend asked me if I could repair his Southwest Industries M3 machine controller.

I *THINK* its an ancient 386 PC running DOS, booting off old floppies.

To solve the CRT problem first, I plugged my Lilliput 9" VGA monitor into the machine. I smelled smoke coming from my monitor as soon as I powered up the controller. Now its dead and I'm afraid to plug any other CRT's into this thing. I do have a couple of old VGA's lying around that work, and MAYBE a board to ron it from of it fits the motherboard. Will it? I mean does the M3/ MX3 have some proprietary headers?

Are the membrane switches available anywhere? Literally peel and stick with a ribbon cable attache for connecting to the keyboard input (of all things), on the PC. Can these be purchased anyplace?

So any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
