Programming or post adjustment for tapping without G84?

Been having to hand code a tapping cycle in a lathe because machine cannot use G84. There are no other canned cycles that do what G84 does, and we do not have macros to simplify the process.

Long story short, I am tired of hand coding tap cycles and would like to be able to do this right out of MCX. Is there a sneaky way to do it in the program or will I need to program a G84 tap cycle, then modify the post?
