2.2 KW Chinese spindle turning off on over amperage

Has anyone experienced the 2.2kw Chinese spindle/vfd shutting down due to over amperage? All I am doing is cutting holes in my MDF spoilboard. The VFD shows the error for over amperage during normal operation. E.OA.n I believe it is. I have used settings from mactec and others on here to set it up. The max current was set at 9. I bumped it to 10 and it still went down after some cutting. The spindle is hot but not so hot you can't put your hand on it.

I feel like something is wrong with the spindle. Resistances between the pins is around 25 ohms between each of them. 1-2, 2-3, 1-3 Seems way high from what I have seen others post on these forums.

    What do you guys think?

Also this is an air cooled spindle. I just finished machining the rest of my spoilboard with no issues. Seems weird but it has done the overcurrent thing three times already. Amperage on the vfd while cutting the mdf was 1.3

I just checked, and the resistance on mine is 2.5 Ohms. you might have a failing spindle.

How do you have it wired, input power as well as U V W and Ground to the spindle, what RPM where you running when it went into a Fault mode

Each 110v leg to the first two terminals. Ground to ground. UVW to pin 1-3. Ground to pin 4. 18k rpm i believe

So you should be connected R and T if you have the Huanyang VFD drive, strange you say 18k the 2.2Kw runs at 24K, what parameters have you set

Also check the Ground pin at the spindle it may not be connected, this has to be connected to the body of the spindle

If you suspect a short within the spindle what is the proper testing method with your multi-meter (1-2, 2-3, 3-1, 4-Chassis, etc.?) and what should the values be? Gerry, I see you mentioned 2.5 Ohms. Where are you taking that reading from?

Between any 2 of the 3 wires.

I've heard that water cooled spindles are I think in the 1.5 ohm range, but the two air cooled spindles are both around 2.5. I think one may be 2.3, but it's been a while since I checked.

You should be checking at the spindle, check your meter to see if it is zero or what ever it is when you touch the 2 probes together, what ever this reads if not zero, you deduct from when you check the pins 1-2 Etc
