2:1 ratio bevel tool: irrational angle - don't seem to exist

    Hi,
we just want to machine a cut that is a 2:1 slope - ie 2 high, 1 deep.
The only way we've found to get a tool like this is by getting it custom made for several hundred GBP.
Any other suppliers out there for this 'simple' requirement?

    Ta,
    Mark.

If I understand your description correctly you are looking for a tool with a 54° included angle (27° per side) I don't think I have ever seen one of those.

Is it not possible to angle the part to get the required cut angle?

Search on Tapered End Mill. Hordes of companies selling. Finding your required angle may be more difficult.
Consider a slight redesign to fit with what is commercially available? 25 degrees is available.

You are correct on this, everyone either offers a 25° or a 30° Angle per Side Tool when you need a 27° Angle per Side Tool. If you have tolerance for the 25° or 30° then there are plenty of options. If not then the best bet is to take the 30° tool and modify it to the 27° angle per side you need. You can contact a local grind shop to do this or we do this in house and can get you a price if you like. Just need to know Shank Diameter you prefer, Length of Cut and HSS or Solid Carbide to get you a price (we run into special angles all the time and modify them often). Hopefully this helps
