    HELP! Need Help Removing Servo

I need to remove a Y Axis from a VMC, and i do not know how motor coupling comes apart.

The machine is a Vulcan which is a rebranded Kasahara

Here are some pictures of the motor coupling

    Attachment 376978

    Attachment 376980

You can see a collar that is loose, that is just a collar... dont know what it does,

I also tried to remove the other set of nuts and they just spin...

I cant believe that it is this hard to replace a servo?

    Any Suggestions?

It looks like a QD bushing / coupler that just might be stuck on the shaft of the ball screw. I can't really see 100%. Judging by the rust the shaft is just rusted to the coupler. It looks like it may need heated up a bit to expand the female side of the coupler. But just be very careful you aren't going to burn anything.

Take a look at the catalogs and you can see how they work.

That is identical to to a Rexnord Type SN single flexible disc coupling.
Usually each side is keyed on.
