Laser "Tick Marks" on Acrylic from Rabbit

    Hello!

We are cutting acrylic on our rabbit and are having marks from the grid. Is there anything that we can try besides raising the acrylic off the grid?

Leaving the protective film on the bottom of the sheet can help with flashback. You might also try some sacrificial sheet underneath such as corflute. Just be aware that corflute can catch fire if you cut over the same sections heaps of times. Replace it frequently and it will be fine, but as with all laser cutting of non-metals, you need to watch it.

I cut acrylic all the time. If I cut more then 3 or 4 of the same piece I will raise the material with small blocks I do cut one pattern a lot and 30 to 100 pieces so I have a jig with a smaller shape that I use to raise it. I have also tried a pin table that I made out of pop rivets I just drilled holes in a .5 X .5 pattern on my cnc and put pop rivets in to raise the material
