I have need to cut miter fold v groove in 38 mm (1"1/2) thick mdf with melamine outer layer. Reality is that I have CNC with 1.5 kw spindle (ER16 collete) and no room in shop for router table. Existing bits for that large profile are all 1/2 shank size and best I can find for 1/4 shank size is 3/4" or so in depth. So I was thinking to make multiple passes with smaller v bit to achieve same effect. As a newbie I made strategy with 6 passes (see attachment) but I'm not sure is that manageable in real situation and where are pit falls. Or are there some other methods?
