    Been using the software on the new Slant Pro since Saturday. The lathe is quieter and the tool path is much smoother. Will be switching over the mill once PeteCNC gets the 2.0 patch done on the pendant and Ninja knobs. Love the fact that things are more touch screen friendly (like the sliders).

    Hey Guys;
    Do you know if one purchases pathpilot for a non-Tormach machine, will updates be made available for them? I've been attempting to install PP on my Novakon for weeks now and am having the problems with the usb interface that has been mentioned in other threads! From what I've read, the latest version addresses USB issues.
    Thanks ion Advance.

    all updates are available to download here

    https://www.tormach.com/pathpilot-up...and-notes.html

    Not sure how v2.0 will work, if they want a machine number to download it or not. Hopefully there is an updated version and a fresh install version.

    PP2.0 won't be offered as a download. It will cost $20, and be offered on a USB thumbdrive. They are doing this because it does a fresh install of an updated Linux OS.

    I hope that that doesn't mean the usual ~us$40 shipping charge for any Canadian orders. It would be great if someone could upload to Dropbox or other accessible location.

    I suspect that a Dropbox download is equally fast there!

    You could try buying from Santa Cruz Electronics is California; John is a stocking Tormach distributor, and seems to have better UPS rates that Tormach.

    Thanks but one *NEVER* want to have anything small shipped to Canada via UPS. Regardless of the value of the merchandise their handling charges are $50 or so (in addition to any applicable shipping charges, duty and taxes). USPS is a far better choice for anything under 10 pounds or so. Little Machine Shop (https://littlemachineshop.com/) also carries many Tormach items and understands how to get the best deal on shipping to Canada.

    I am not messing with success. I think my Slant Pro is still at 1.7 something.
    It is very happy right there too.

    That said, I don't ever put new files on the machine. Just using stock files for the most part. For special ops, I just use the Conversational, so Wifi and Drop box hold little value for me.

    So you never backup the files on your machine?

    No need.

    The Gcode files on the machine are in fact transferred from my Desktop a couple years ago via flash drive. I do have backups of those.
    I have a CD of Path Pilot as a backup too.
    Nothing else is needed.

    The 2.0 version greatly expands the tool table for lathes to 99. You might find that helpful (or not) depending on your needs I guess.

    Perhaps they listened. Shipping to US locations appears to be $4 and $10 for Canada instead of the usual $40 or so. Order placed!

    Re: Path Pilot 2.0 Get Ready!!! Tormach has a page for it now!

    Hey Guys;
    I just purchased the new upgrade without a hitch. I purchased the older version hoping to run it on my novakon. The only concern I have is that this version states in the ordering process that one must have a system operating on the old version for this upgrade to work. I'm having difficulty getting the old version to load with (what I am hoping) is problems with the usb interface and I was under the impression that this version addressed some of the interface problems. I have already purchased a new motherboard and will install it as a last resort.
    This upgrade to PP is getting complicated, annoying and expensive!
    Good luck with your installs.
