    Vacuum for a 4x4 CNC

    Hey all.

Im still shopping for a 4x4 CNC. Either Camaster PT404, FMT Patriot 4x4, TechnoCNC HD-II & HDS.

What size vacuum pump will be good for these machines.
The usual stuff to be cut sheetwise. (Signmaker)
Looking into haveing the table hybrid style. T-Slots also in top
and maybe 2~4 zones for vac.

Preferably single phase. Not looking to do the phase converter path.

    IIRC, the Patriot was offering
    5hp Becker vacuum pump KVT 3.80, 48 SCFM, 27′′ Hg, 220 Volt, 1-Ph, 60 HZ

What to do...? I'll mostly be clamping but want that vac "just in case"
yet not want a wimpy nor steroidic unit. Looking for Goldilocks.

    OK

    Thanks all.

You won't do much better than that Becker pump, unless you go with a bigger Becker.
