Question Question: Has anyone tried madCAM in Rhino6 Beta?

I'm wondering if anyone knows if madCAM is compatible with the upcoming Rhino6 which is in Beta now.

Does the transition to RhinoCommon mean madCAM will have to be tweaked or re-compiled or something in order to work on Rhino6?

Main reason I'm asking is because there are significant improvements in Grasshopper in Rhino6 which I'd like to take advantage of, but if madCAM doesn't yet work in Rhino6 that means I'll need to wait until it does.

To the best of my knowledge the current pre-release does not run in V6. However, Joakim had a version ready a while ago that will run in V6. You won't need to worry about that. You should be able to move forward with V6 and madCAM when the time comes.

I have never used grasshopper but would you not be able to create the model in 6 and then save as a file that can open in 5 ?

Yes, Rhino has always allowed for backwards compatibility.

I am not sure the entire 3d party API is open or documented yet. They went from Beta to Release pretty fast so please be patient.

I was a little surprised, but development can't drag on forever with no cash infusions. I would expect an SR1 following fairly soon.

Got in contact with JOM, yeah we were all surprised by the fast release cycle. But it seems MadCAM is on the go and there's already a Rhino 6-version in test.
