Suggestions for a small footprint PC

I have recently rebuilt a machine, and am on a roll! Electronics (4 Gecko 251X, a generic BOB, 36V power supply, and a UC-100 usb dongle) are all tucked away in a new enclosure. Cable chains keeping everything tidy, etc.

Now my main grief comes from this bulky full tower PC controlling it. I saw a slick one box, touchscreen Raspberry Pi thing on a YouTube video. Whole thing was the size of my existing electronics box. Problem is that it won’t run my UCCNC software (or even LinuxCNC). A quick google shows that a Pi based system is still VERY experimental.

So, anybody have a cool solution they want to share? Is there a way to piece together a cool little dedicated computer to run my controller software (that won’t break the bank)?

My main CNC computer died yesterday. An emergency conversion resulted in using a NUC computer:

    So far REALLY good results!
