    PP backlash settings

Does anyone know what the syntax is for setting the backlash for X, Y, Z in Pathpilot?

I can get the line that says admin_set_backlash, but what does one enter from there, every entry I have tried doesnt work.

    any help appreciated!

I'm not at my mill at the moment but I recall it being something like:

    Code:
    admin_set_backlash x 0.005
You have ot specify the axis and unit after the admin command.

This is a very nice change because it allowed backlash tuning without "reloading" PathPilot so it saved a lot of time.

I just installed 2.4.3 and "admin set_axis_backlash x 0.005" appears to work. You get a message saying that the command was accepted when you spell everything correctly!

If you screw it up there is a "admin reset_axis_backlash" to undo the changes.

    Any idea what "set_axis_scale_factor" does?

I havent got a clue what that scale factor does??

I finally got it figured out, I wasnt typing in the command, I was selecting it from the admin menu, that doesnt work!!

My X Y axes have .003 and .0028 lost motion in them, the X is smooth, the Y sounds/feels "gritty" evidently at some point it wasnt oiling well.

I called Tormach, got a nice lady immediately, after telling her my problem in detail I was assigned a case number for a callback, so much for her being a Tech...........
I think maybe I need to be looking for a ballscrew repair facility ?? The last time I tried backlash settings it left witness marks in the part.
    thanks for the help!
