    Cryogenic Machining? Has anyone here tried it??

    I am looking for some folks with real world experience with Cryogenic machining. JUst wanting to know if it works as advertised?

    Cryo steel - yes, sure. Seems to work, but whether it is better than good tool steel or similar ???

    No I am refering ti the process where they use liquid nitrogen as a coolant to cool the tool. They say it is supposed to work great on hard to machine materials like Inconel

    OK, cryo machining with Li-N. Very esoteric and still a work in progress. Apparently justified for extreme nickel-based materials, probably with ceramic whisker cutters. Much $$$.
