Before I bite the bullet to buy a rotary table / 4th axis setup from Tormach I thought I would see if anyone here is looking to unload one. I am located in St. Paul, MN but willing to pay shipping if it makes sense.

I hardly ever get over there for no specific reason. Is it the super spacer or the normal left side mount? I assume it is motorized with the 4th axis kit. Anything else with it, like chuck? Let me know what you are looking to get, depending on price it may be worth a road trip.

Mine has a 6-in 4-jaw chuck and backplate sold by Tormach. Also the adjustable tailstock, and of course the 4th axis stepper kit. I'd be looking for $1500 OBO. Pickup only for now.

I'll keep that in mind. I ran some numbers and it isn't worth me to make a trip to Chicago area just for this. If someone comes up where I'd be closer that way I'll let you know.

At close to 200lbs it is not a tool you move much . Still I enjoy using my super spacer, the weight can be annoying is only draw back. I have a project right now for my super spacer and decided to get by with spin indexing. Figured I would make one at a time, on and off over time and didn't want to setup 4th axis every time or unless to do a large batch. Tormach released models of most of their tools recently for people to use in both cad and cam applications, I had drawn most of my own long ago. Go figure no spin indexer the only one I needed. Oh well these days with better cad it takes about 10 minutes to draw up a near exact copy to use as a fixture in cam setups.

Anyway it saves time to have these templates setup in cam for quick work on new parts in the 5c fixture format.

There are a couple different models of 5c collet chucks for the 8" 4th axis. I was mentioning the reason for using a little spin index that is also mostly a 5c collet work holding system. Because it weighs 8 lbs not 180 lbs

I have a 5C collet chuck that bolts onto the face of the 8 inch indexer.

looks like fun, Should be all plug and play! Only problem I had was an annoying short ribbon cable, had to route it funny. What cam are you using?

Fusion 360. We'll see how well the 4th axis features can serve me...

All wired up and mounted (somewhat). I did find it kind of annoying that the wires from the bulkhead connector didn't have wire ferrules crimped on and I don't think it would have been necessarily a huge deal to include the 124 and 125 (power) wires with the labels and ferrules crimped on either. I couldn't settle for that so I got some wire ferrules on the wires =)

Sprutcam makes indexed work simple and any type of indexed drilling almost automatic. Most of the true 4 axis operations are a challenge to setup for me. Always takes some fiddling around to get approaches and tool alignment correct with no collisions and still get the results you want on certain operations. Some operations are smart and do a good job if you just define the job zone right. Anyway its expensive compared to Fusion and you need a good cad program to get full use of the program.
