    need some help

To make a long story short I replaced the motor on my Paxton Patterson CNC training mill. I took several photos as I went along to help with the reassembly and the photos were deleted from the camera. I figured out where every wire plugs into the speed controller but two; the back and white wires that feed to the back of the mill and connect to a relay. Anyone have an idea where they connect.

    Bison 330,

Look around for the male spade connectors that are not attracted to anything.

It would help if you posted images of other components that are in the general proximity.

There are two on the speed controller (F+ F-) but I don't want to hook up the incorrect one. The black wire has 120V and I don't want to destroy the board

Something must be wrong with my eyes, I don't see the images of the board you are referring to.

If they go to a speed control board, then most of those that I have seen are clearly labeled.
Take a snap shot of the circuit board and we will give it a look.

The only spade terminal that I saw was on the back of the toggle switch. I don't think one wire goes there.
Do you notice any other spade terminals anywhere?

There are two spade terminals on the speed controller. F+ and F-.

This looks like the sheet for your drive.

I am not sure, but I doubt you would be using the Field coils. F+ or F-.
How many wires does your motor have? Does it have two brushes or none?

Where do the unconnected wires currently lead or attach to?

    What does that relay control?
Can you read the points on the relay that it is connected to?
Trying to determine if these are voltage side or control side of the relay.

Check the black and white wire to see if it is getting 120 VAC across them when power is turned on.

Then that wire should be power something with AC voltage. Something that is using a relay to switch on and off. Do you have a coolant pump, dust collector etc?

    Re: need some help

Hate to zombify the thread, but here is the info I have on the motor speed controller you are trying to connect. The schematic I created from my current mill, and wire colors seem to vary greatly between these machines. I hope the attached pictures and pdf are clear enough to help you.
