    tool database 5.2

There are some nice new things added to this version of the database.

I am looking for information on the new "opt. step down" and the other new columns in the tool definition. Is it used?

Before 9.5 there was FX, FZ and FR for feed calculations, now there is a "F fullcut". Where does this information flow to inside hypermill? I know there is a fullcut checkbox on the 3D ASR strategy tab. Does this pull it in? If so, is it in the tool def?

for any given tool ==> tool definition/ technology tab/ job defaults/ has three feed rate data inputs.

    1) Feedrate this is still intended feedrate; FX
    2) Feedrate Reduced this is reduced formula; FR
    3) Feedrate Axial this is FZ

Does the new "F fullcut" get used in any other job besides 3D ASR?

    Cheers
    Dave

    Just a couple ideas:

When I change the technology (material type) it does not reflect the change in the tool database until the ipt file is closed and reopened.

It is hard to see what tab is selected in the tool database. It could use a little more contrast against the tabs that are not selected. For that matter the job step list in Inventor suffers from the same problem.
