    Angry Sqeaking X Axis

I've had my SlantPro since September and use it every few days. I was running a part today and noticed that the X axis is squeaking. X travel at high speed tends to stall the motor. I have a manual oiler that I pump every day or so and have filled it a couple times. I also reached up under there and it's oily and looks fairly clean with a mirror.

Sounds like by X gibs need adjusting, but why now? I probably have 200 hours on it.

    Re: Sqeaking X Axis

So I went and ate and stopped thinking about it and then went back and moved the little brake lever on the X axis so it's disengaged so its all back to good. Does this mean my brake is bad?

Sounds like the brake is not being powered when it should be. Could be the brake itself, wiring, or a relay in the panel. Check the brake coil with an ohmmeter. Not sure what the power on voltage should be.
