Hi
I've got a Boxford 160TCL that I'm converting to use Mach3, I am using this 5 axis breakout board:

I'm trying to connect an optical switch to it in order to use it as an index pulse. I want to get this right before I try to figure out how to connect the VFD which is another matter entirely, I will try hooking it up directly as the BOB can output 0-10v analogue but I may wind up using a spindle breakout board anyway.
The problem I have is that the limit switch connections have 3.3v present even with nothing connected. With a test opto switch connected I get 3.4v untriggered and 3.9v triggered, Mach3 can't tell this is triggered. I'v tried to connect pull down resistors of both 22K and 220 ohm, neither of which work. I believe the problem is that the board has pullup resistors on the inputs (back of the board) but I want some help before I start snapping components off of the board.
A mechanical switch connected triggers perfectly and is recognised by Mach3.
I'm new to this stuff so speak slowly and don't use long words...
Thanks in advance
