Has anyone ordered the pendant with this too?
    I did order the UCR201.
I hope it works as well as it looks.

It's brand new, and just came out a month ago.

I am hoping to get back to installing this on the Pulsar this weekend.
I have everything I need except time.

I haven't had a chance to get into mine yet. One of my full time guys had to take some time off. I have been covering that position. ;(
I will get there soon though.

    Not yet.
Unfortunately way too many things have gotten in my way. It is still on my priority list though. Just need things demanding my time to taper off some.

I had forgotten about this thread, and I had completely missed the news about Lee. My condolences to his family. He had bought a Torus just like mine and was a lot of help to me.

So on post 54 back in Feb 2018 it looked like Novakon had settled on the UCCNC UC300ETH-5LPT ethernet motion controller.

    CNCdrive - motion controls

    https://www.cnc4pc.com/uc300eth-ethe...troller-b.html

I'm not sure what happened, but I have not heard anything about the status of UCCNC and Novakon for over two years. I assume Novakon decided to go another direction?

The UCCNC UC300ETH-5LPT still looks like a very promising CNC motion controller for my Torus (NM-145 mechanical with Pulsar stepper drives and servo spindle).

    Thoughts?

UCCNC is still under constant development, with new features added regularly. Can't tell you what Novakon is doing.

    Re: UCCNC ETH-400

I haven't talked to John since last July, but this is what he sent at that time. Maybe someone has heard something more recently. I think I shared this when I got it, but maybe not....and if I did, it's buried somewhere in a thread. lol Anyway......I don't think the UCCNC stuff was going to move forward. I would think that Ray L. (Santa Cruz) would know more. I just went to novakon.net and there's more things listed than the last time I visited....so there seems to be activity.

    Hi Mike,
Everything is fine here. I am building a new shop and more time consuming is a modified torus pro. We are going full Siemens controls and will be UL certified. The new mills are being built in China now, but will not have the cabinet on the back side. The cabimet will instead be on the side of the stand. We will have a kit form for older mills, but we have to complete the first kit we are working on now. The new mill will have rigid tapping and a more powerful spindle motor and all servo axes. Fully commercial and a little more expensive also. I am not sure if we will have a stepper version, depending on interest mainly.

We also just finished a contract yesterday to build a US CO2 laser with our own design. A lot of new features not on the imports we represent. I will still sell Bodor, but pushing US built, though slightly higher in price. Demo will be started next week and should have pictures for the zone starting in a few weeks. We will have construction shots as we go. Should be interesting.

We will also will be releasing the mill announcement about the same time. We will be limited to conceptual drawings for a few months before the mills show up.

You can share this info if you like since we will release it anyway very soon. Days are long with work!

    Regards,

I talked to John very recently and he is going through some personal stuff. He said he was closing the shop for a couple of weeks to deal with it. I can not tell you if or when he will reopen. He complained about having machines and parts stuck in china.

Thanks for posting this Keith. I guess its one of the problems with being the king pin of a small company. Stuff does not happen when you are not available. I will soon be needing some tool holders but had ruled out Novakon because of the absence. I'll be patient for a while.

John if you read this I hope all works out well for you and you make it through whatever is going on.

Keith, when you say recently, are you talking about the last couple of days or weeks?

If yes, that is great news. I had begun fearing the worst...
