    Help!? Laser not firing

    Hey everyone,

Really hope someone can help me track down the problem with my laser cutter.
I've got a RedSail CM1290 that I just bought in December. It's been working very well up until today.

The short description is that my laser cutter is severely lacking in lasers!
When I start a cutting job, no power is being drawn from the laser tube. There's a power meter by the control panel that stays at zero the whole time.

Everything else appears to be fine. Motors move correctly, fan is on, water cooler is on and reading 5C.
It has been very cold here the last few days, probably at or below zero in some cases (we got a loooot of snow yesterday).
As far as I can tell there's no crack on the laser tube. No visible sign of damage anywhere that I can see.

What can I try to get this working?
How can I tell if the problem is with the tube or the power supply to the tube?

    Thank you for helping!
Today is a sad day for this laser :'-(

    Hank,

See attached video for troubleshooting tips.

Be extremely careful around the power supply.

    Thanks Jeff,
I guess laser cutters are quite varied in the specifics of how they're made.
The connections in that video look quite different to what I've got so I wasn't sure how to apply those steps in my case. I'm sure if I had more experience with this machine it'd make more sense. That'll come in time.

But regardless, I was able to get through to the manufacturer and they helped me to figure out the problem.
It turns out that I just had a faulty wire attached to the water chiller alarm cable. After jiggling that cable a little bit I'm back in action again! Huzzah! \o/
