    Question Allen-Bradley 160S VFD

Does anyone knows what type of IGBTs module is being used in the Allen-Bradley 160S ( Series C) VFD? The module I had is shorted and those marking on it are no longer visible. I need to know the place to get the replacement as well. Thanking in advance!

Sorry for bringing this back from the dead, but did you ever get an answer to this question? I am in the same boat.

1-2hp vfd drive? is it worth fixing? IGBTs today are hard to come by as a lot of fab shops shut down when the economy tanked 2yrs ago and are still not backup to speed. we have 16 week delivery on some igbts for drive repairs in this size! prices are often $ 120 each in this size. all that said, might it be worth getting quote on new replacement instead? We sell little Hitachis in 1-2hp size for like $ 250 new?

more comments from elsewhere I found:

If your talking about a smaller one like a series 160 drive then I wouldnt waste time trying to get it fixed. Repair price = replacement price. For instance the bridge section of the drive is a sealed module that cannot be worked on without going through some pain to get into it.

This is a great repair center, Search for Drives, Controls, Controllers - Electrical South
But be forewarned, in low HP sizes it is likely that the labor costs to repair a VFD will outweigh the cost of new, regardless of the series. As the others said, that 160 series is not repairable, but even if you have an older one like a 1305, the Darlington Transistors, which are replaceable, are so deep in the drive that it may take 4 hours to fix it.

I'm more interested in getting this one up and running. It's more of a hobby project than a get tool up and running project.

I have tore into the drive today. The module is a Tyco P483B03 IGBT PIM (single module) and not discrete IGBTs. Hopefully, I can track down a datasheet or maybe even a replacement module out of old stock. If not, I'll probably look at making an adapter board and fit it with newer power module. This drive uses an IR2133J driver 3 phase bridge driver, so there is a lot of flexibility in what kind of module it can drive.
