So, I have recently aquired a brand new 3600Lb Manford CNC knee mill (without servos or controls). It is fitted with a NMTB 30 spindle and PDB.

Since I am new to most of this, I am unsure whether to tool-up on NMTB tooling or to convert the mill to BT30.

It seems that there is a lot more tooling for BT30. Take, for instance, a milling chuck. I can't seem to find any for NMTB, but a few for BT30. Is a milling chuck really necessary for this class of machine, or will ER/TG collets work just as well?

What say you, as far as the conversion?

Thanks in advance.
