*It wont let me edit the title of the thread should read 'Newbie advice on desktop CNC machine please!'

Hello CNC'ers of the world

I am looking for some advice on a desktop machine to be used by newbies with good CAD / design experience but limited engineering knowhow.

We are a stage design company who are moving toward some light production to see where it takes us. So far we have been prototyping using a 3D printer (Raise 3d N2 incase anyone cares) but we have now reached a point where we need to further develop elements such as signage, engraving, extrusions/ joins and sheet cutting etc... using materials other than plastic filament and ideally a little quicker!

The materials we work with include plastic lumber, wood, reformed cardboard... mainly eco products tbh, little to no metal at this stage.

What we would like to do is prototype our stage designs to create models, lest say at under 1m2. My limited research so far has lead me toward some form of 3/4 axis desktop system but I would really appreciate any help anyone could give me.

Thanks

Nick
