    Need help with offsets values on SL 20. I want them to be from the chuck

    Hello

    I just got an older SL 20 and started playing around with it. my old lathe we changed a parameter so that my work offset values where from the chuck and not the machine.. i like having offset values that makes sense.

    Anyonw know if its possible to set a parameter so i take type in my offset values with the lenght from the chuck?

    I do not think there's any parameter for that on the HAAS cnc (I certainly never saw one), however I fail to understand how an offset measured from the chuck face (or spindle face) makes more "sense" than from the machine zero position ?
