Dual and single shaft stepper motor differences?

What is the difference between dual and single shaft stepper motors? Searched the forums, but can't seem to find the answer....

The only real difference is that one has only a front shaft and the other one a front and rear shaft. Generally, electrical specs are the same. Different mechanical drawings.

So there's practically no advantage that one has over the other?

If you might want to add an encoder later, or perhaps need to run something from the back side yes. Otherwise, I can't think of any reason.

double shafted motors are also usefull if you want to manually move the motor.
Fit a knob on the back and turn it manually.
