i need me a small atc spindle. iso20, iso25, hsk25, hsk32 type.

needs to be under 15kg
needs to be 2.2kw 220v winding, so i can run on single phase
should be air cooled ideally (fan or compressed)
tool release needs to be air, not hydraulic

ive checked all the usually culprits an have come up with ELTE in italy for lighter duty woodworking type spindles, and microlab in taiwan for heavier milling type spindles.

HSD doesnt make anything applicable, nor does hiteco, teknomotor, and such. chinese alibaba models are not viable, the dont cost any less and are not a reliable source.

so who else can i call!

Colombo is another brand to look at. They go by Giordano Colombo as well as PDS Colombo. Their EU site has a lot more information than their NA site.

Looks like only their RC (compressed air cooled) line would fit your weight requirements.
What's on their site are just some of the models available. I think they're customizable.

i have looked over colombo already. they are far too expensive on their smaller spindles.

ive kinda narrowed it down to an hsd and hiteco iso30 spindle and current limiting it. the quest for something small wasnt leading anywhere except to expensive high speed niche models. the basic small iso30's are much cheaper so i will simply make one fit

I ended up getting a 16 HP spindle because of the same reasons. Used, with a matching (220V) VFD it was less than any of the 2-3kw models.
Only issues are it's 50kg, uses expensive HSK63f holders, still not sure if the VFD will run on single phase (it'll turn on, but haven't tried spinning the spindle yet,) and I don't think the VFD will run it at full speed (not sure why the seller had an 800 Hz spindle with a 400 Hz VFD.) Other than that it's perfect!

delta mh300 single phase 220v 2000hz 2.2kw.

thats what ill be using. in my case, ill actually still get full power at 24k, but less at 12k. still more than ample for my purposes.
