Hi Pplug and other members of this forum.
I have some issue about chinese VFD inverter with spindle.


First it was working perfectly with 18000 rpm.
I factory resetted and reprogrammed. Now it's working but not more than 3000 rpm 50htz.


My current configuration is:
PD013 = 01 instead of 08 ( I guess it's fake inverter)
PD005 = 400
PD004 = 400
PD002 = 001
PD070 = 01
PD072 = 400

The main problem is when i unplug spindle from my inverter it's working perfect at 400htz, 24000rpm.
And when I plug my inverter to spindle it cant rotate more than 50htz 3000rpm if I try to rotate POT to increase htz it showed "dL" error and stopped.

The problem could be on both spindle and inverter.
So my question is:
1) How to program my Inverter.
2) How to check my spindle is working or not.
3) Why spindle is shaking during rotate.

You Have not set all the Parameters correct, your VFD looks like the real thing, if you have the 2.2Kw Spindle

Here are the Parameters you have to set, if you don't set the correct main Parameters then you will damage the Spindle or both, you don't have PD003 set this determines how fast the spindle is going to run, plus other Parameters that are important

Huanyang Mactec54
2.2Kw 220v

PD000=0 for Parameter unlock ( 1 ) for Parameter Lock

PD001=0 (1 For Remote Control)

PD002=0 ( 1 For 0-10v Terminal Control or Remote Trim Pot Control )
( J1 Also Needs to be set for Terminal Control )

PD003=400

PD004=400

PD005=400

PD006=15

PD007=20

PD008=220 (Motor Rated Voltage, If you have 120v spindle then set to 120v )

PD009=15

PD010=8

PD011=100 ( 100 Minimum Setting with Quality VFD, 120 is Safe)

PD13= 08 is for Factory reset, Only use this to set VFD to Factory Default Settings

PD014 Acceleration=10 ( Adjust to suit)

PD015 Deceleration=10 (Adjust to suit) ( PD15 is ignored IF PD26=1 Then the Spindle will Coast to a Stop)

PD023=0 ( Forward Run Only )

PD041=8 ( Carrier Frequency up to 10 Max for these Spindle motors)

PD120=120 ( Stall Prevention )

PD141=220 ( Motor Rated Voltage ) (120 for VFD Rated for 120v )

PD142=9 ( Motor Max Amps 2.2Kw Spindle 9 amp )

PD143=2 ( Motor Number of Poles)

PD144=3000 (Max Motor RPM) =3,000= (24,000)

PD70=0 ( This may need to be set to 1 if Control Voltage is 0-5v )

PD72=400

PD73=100 ( 100 Minimum RPM Setting 120 is Safe )

PD174=??? ( To Be Set to the VFD Drives Max Rated Amps )

Unfortunately not working for me. I guess my spindle burnt. So how can i check my VFD burnt or not.

DL is never a good sign

Disconnect the Spindle, and put the Parameters in, if it runs then the VFD will be fine, read you manual as for you wiring also, plug and unplugging a VFD is a disaster waiting to happen they just do not like being plugged /unplugged

The ReSet of the Parameters can be different, so the 01 you used could be normal

In above case the problem was VFD. Some resistor, chips burnt in it.

I guess it is possible, isnt it?

Yours is not the same problem as what they had, yours may be Ok, though there could be some damage as well

Try the power on the VFD without the spindle connected and find a correct plug, 3 wire for the input power Live / Hot wire Neutral wire and Ground / Earth all 3 wires are needed and for the spindle 4 wires are needed with a shielded cable

I guess my VFD is not HuanYang too. So some programming paramters are different than real Huanyang vfd.

If possible give me some advice how to wire between VFD and spindle.

I'm hoping solve this issue soon.

The photo of the spindle wiring is not correct, it is missing the Ground wire and the shield, you can see in the photo though of where the ground wire needs to go, you have to check the Ground Pin4 in the plug for continuity most like yours is not connected inside and has to be connected like my attached photo

The Plug Pin wiring in the Photo is not normal they should be

Pin 1=U

Pin 2=V

Pin 3=W

Pin 4=Ground

The Spindle is the same spec's, all these no matter what brand name have the same 220v 400Hz 9 Amps 2.2Kw water cooled, some air cooled have different spec's

So what VFD do you have some photos of that would help Drive Spec plate on the side of the drive, and a photo of the terminal block

This is a very Bad YouTube example of how NOT to WIRE your VFD Drive and Spindle, the Parameters are also set incorrect for this Spindle
