I am building a 200W CNC fiber laser cutting system and ran into a roadblock with control software/hardware selection. I identified two turn-key hardware/software solutions for fiber lasers, mainly Cypcut FS2000 and Ruida RDC6333F, which range in price between $2,000 and $4,000. Both solutions are Chinese, which makes me very uneasy.

Successful use of a fiber laser source in a cutting application requires dynamic control over several parameters, including modulation frequency, output power, focus position, gas assist parameters, and how these parameters play off of each other during piercing and cutting for different material thicknesses.

So I am curious if anyone has had success building a CNC fiber laser system using generic step/direction hardware and software tools.

Any insight is highly appreciated.
