    Copying programs on Fanuc 10T

I have every manual that Fanuc and Mori-Seiki were willing to sell me. I still can't figure out how to clone a program on our ancient SL-15.
Every time I try it says "NO OPTION". I just want to create a copy of a program that's already on the machine so that I can mess with it without wrecking the original.

I would *guess* you don't have an option installed such as Extended Edit. Can you punch the programs out and edit them on a PC?

If you are trying to pull a program out of the Mori's control onto a PC:
AND If you do not have a RS-232 Port.
Then you need a BTR board (Behind the Tape Reader) to be installed.
This will allow you to interface a PC with the control.
It tricks the control into thinking it is receiving punched tape.
Basically a binary to punch tape translator.

On my setup: I can't pull a program. Only send. So my edits only should be done on the PC. Then sent back to the CNC.
Some BTR's will send & receive.

You will also need some kind of communication software and a cable wired correctly between the PC & CNC.

There are companies that offer a full package. Google Behind the Tape Reader.
