Z axis and GoTo Zero crash

    Hello everybody

When I am running GoTo Zero command just after starting mach3, the Z engine blocks and then finishes the sequence but the positioning is wrong. If I restart the command just after, I have no more problems.
Here are two videos of the problem at slow and fast speed.
Would you have an explanation of what it is ?

The first move sends the Z axis beyond its travel limit. The motor hits the mechanical stop, stalls and loses steps.

What is your calibration procedure when you start Mach3? Does your machine have home switches?

When the motor stalls, it do not hit the mechanical stop which are inductive switch, it just stop by itself

I have set up the Safe Z move at 10mm.
I do not do anything special when starting mach3 and the machine has home switches.
I set the homing / limits but I did not activate softlimits.

What informations do you need to be able to make your diagnosis?

OK, I watched the videos a few more times and stand corrected. The motor does not hit the limit, it just stalls for no apparent reason.

Does it do that with ANY first move after you start Mach3 (such as executing an MDI command or jogging manually), or is the problem limited to GoToZero button?

    Hello CitizenOfDreams.

It happens only on the first move after I start Mach3 or after a moment of inactivity but just for the Gotozero button.

I had same problem for the auto tool zero button but after I had change one parameter into the bob plugin it seems to be ok.

Also, when I run a g-code, the first move of my gantry (axis with 2 motors Y and A slave) start with a little stuck (like the z slow move)but it’s a much less strong it’s pretty nothing just a "clac" and everything goes well and I don’t loose any steps so I deal with, not like Z motor.

I don’t have any issues with manual jog mod.

If you need any screenshots or informations let me know.

    Hello everybody,

I noticed that I can reproduce this stall by just activated/desactivated e-stop button.
I can run a lot of times without any problem but when I hit e-stop button and run GotoZero command I get motor stall and then no matters anymore...

    Any ideas ?

    Hello everybody,

i think I fixed the issue.
After many tries, read a lot of topics,I didn’t find anything then,
I disabled the output into GeneralConfig->port and pins-> outputs.
i started the GoToZero command, no stall, I pushed e-stop button, thinking it was a lucky try, I started the command again and no stall.
if anyone get an idea why I get this.

    regards
