Ok sir that will do so let me summarize what you want basing on your video and your control box with switches, you want the steppers to have an RPM counter, a forward reverse switch on the steppers in conjunction with the counter (+/-) you want to control the speed of the rotation from 0-1000 RPM thru a potentiometer, the counter must be subtracting the RPM counter display output if you set the machine in reverse mode. is this correct? anything else you wanna add sir?

I will start coding this after work today

on my opinion your RPM counter must be an independent module, your arduino will just be a plain stepper driver.

I want the display to count revolutions. For example if I have 500 on the display. I want to turn the switch on, (the switch on the top left side of the box). then the motors will turn 500 turns and then shut off.

Well thanks to hfjbuis, my Arduino programming is complete. Many emails back and forth with little test programs.
